Letter: Pagosa West

Posted

Dear Editor:

Approximately 100 acres south of Highway 160, west of Piinion Causeway and east of S. Pagosas Blvd. may soon be developed. forty-five years ago, my husban and I discovered Pagosa Springs. We began to spend whatever time allowed heare, savoring the area’s magic with our family. Indeed, when it was time to return to our permanent home, I cried. Pagosas Springs is singular place of beuty and good people who count themselves lucky to live here.

To destroy the 100 acres of forest in the proposed Pagosa West for unneeded contsruction is to pluck out a piece of the town’s soul and chip away at a part of what makes Pagosa Springs unique and beloved. Once the trees are gone, the town will be lift with buildings rising like tombstones over the dead roots...and all for the sake of one man’s profit.
