Kyle Martin Horn passed away on Sept. 20, 2025, at the age of 33 in Durango, Colo. He was born in Durango on Jan. 14, 1992.

He grew up in Durango/Pagosa Springs, and also lived in Stillwater, Okla., where he earned a master’s degree in agronomy. Wherever Kyle was, he was surrounded by family and friends who loved him immensely.

Kyle was a project manager for Steve Spriggs, who was also his hockey coach. When Kyle was in high school and in college, he worked for Roger and Rena Cole on their ranch, where he fell in love with farming and ranching. He was passionate about everything he did, whether it was his work, hockey (DAYHA), skiing, mountain biking (DEVO) or watching sports. Recently, he was planning to put together a hockey team with some of his Durango High School friends.

Kyle was eager to lend a hand to anyone who asked and accepted people for who they are. He loved “good” country music and loved getting his hands dirty working on cars, trucks and farm equipment. Kyle would light up a room when he came in and could strike up a conversation with anyone. If needed, he would give you the shirt off his back.

Kyle is survived by his mother, Yolanda; father Jim (wife Lynn); his sister, Hailey; grandmother Vita; aunts Isabel, Jennifer and Julia; cousins Natalie and Wendy; and so many other numerous relatives. We will all love and miss him so very much.

A celebration of life will be on Oct. 17 in Pagosa Springs. A prayer and reflection will be held at Sunset Ranch for anyone wishing to join the family at 4186 E. U.S. 160 at 10 a.m. At noon, the celebration of life will continue with a reception/lunch at the Pagosa Lakes Property Owners Association Vista Clubhouse, 230 Port Ave.
