Joshua Abrell

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Joshua Abrell, a father, cherished son, brother and treasured friend. Joshua left this world on May 31, 2024, unexpectedly leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, humor and selflessness.

Joshua was born on 06/23/1978 in Holland, Mich., and from the very beginning, he embodied resilience and determination. We all believed he was invincible. Though life brought its challenges, he faced them with unwavering courage and an open heart. Joshua’s greatest joy and pride were his children.

His words of wisdom will forever echo in his children’s and family’s hearts. Joshua had a quiet strength and a deep capacity for love. He was known for his sense of humor, his ability to fix anything, beautiful landscapes and his passion for the outdoors. He created the most beautiful landscapes for more people than we can count in Pagosa Springs, Colo. He found happiness in the simple things — whether it was sharing a meal with family or friends, cheering on his people, or lending a hand to those in need.

Joshua is survived by Liliana Abrell (daughter), Sumett Abrell (son), Sylis Calavan (grandson), Greg Abrell (father), Beverly Guter (mother), Heather Abrell (sister) and Stephanie Abrell (sister).

Though he has left us too soon, Joshua’s love and legacy live on in the hearts of his children/family, who will carry his spirit with them always. His memory will forever inspire them to live fully, love deeply and face life’s challenges with the same bravery he did.

Rest peacefully, Dad. Fly high with your angels. You are missed more than you know, and your love will guide us always.
