Josephine Rivas, 86, of Pagosa Springs, went home to be with the Lord on April 19, 2025.
Josephine was born to Sulema and Alberto Archuleta on Oct. 28, 1938. Josephine was a lifelong resident of Archuleta County.
She is survived by her children and loving family. Thelma (Donnie) Valdez, Patricia Candelaria, Genevieve Rivas, Luis (Christine) Rivas, Ernest (Ruby Archuleta) Rivas, Daniel (Antoinette) Rivas.
Grandchildren: Holly, Eric, Justin (Devon), Lucas, Nicki, Jared (Michaela), Catlin (Brandon), Daniel (Brooke), Isaiah, Cera. Great-grandchildren: Adrianna, Marisol, Mia, Lila, Ethan, Keshawn, Rudy, Avery, Ayla, Killian, Marley-Mae, Milo.
And, the many who called her Mom and Grandma.
Josephine is proceed in death by her son, Rudy Candelaria, and many other loved family members.
The rosary will be at 6 p.m. on May 2 at Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on May 3 at Pope John Paul II, followed by burial at Hilltop Cemetery.
All are invited to join the family meal following services at Pope John Paul II.
