Herman Gonzales, 89, passed away on Oct. 9, peacefully at home with his loving wife at his side. He was born Sept. 13, 1936, in Allende Coas, Mexico. Herman was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a proud member of the United States Army’s 101 Airborne Division. He owned Harry’s Upholstery for more than 20 years and Better Than New Upholstery in Pagosa Springs. His proudest moments were coaching many of his grandchildren in multiple sports, winning multiple championships. He is survived by his wife, Doris; his daughter, Patty; sons Randy and Mark; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He now joins his beloved daughter in heaven, Shelly. A service will be held next summer in California.
