Do you believe in the power of kindness? Do you want to make a real difference in our community? Have you ever felt the urge to help someone find hope in their darkest moments?
If so, Rise Above Violence invites you to step forward and become part of something truly transformative.
We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as certified confidential advocates. As a volunteer advocate, you’ll provide unwavering support, encouragement, and resources to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
This is your chance to be a steady, caring presence for those who need it most.
Our next volunteer training is on Saturday, March 15, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and we’d love for you to be a part of it. We only hold this training two times a year.
What does a confidential advocate do?
• Offer a listening ear and a comforting presence.
• Answer crisis calls with empathy and understanding.
• Help survivors access resources and create safety plans.
• Collaborate with a passionate team dedicated to building a safer, more supportive community.
No prior experience is needed, just a willingness to learn and a heart for helping others. Our comprehensive, free training will provide you with the skills and confidence to recognize signs of abuse, understand trauma and offer meaningful support to survivors.
What’s included:
• Free training to become a certified confidential advocate.
• Breakfast and lunch.
• A supportive, welcoming environment to learn, connect and grow.
