Angie (Vasquez) Villarreal

Posted
On Oct. 6, 2025, Angie (Vasquez) Villarreal, age 87, was greeted by the angels and went to her eternal home with our lord savior.

Angie was born on April 26, 1938, to her beloved mom and dad, Emilia (Valerio) Vasquez and Juan Andres Vasquez Sr., in Pagosa Springs, Colo., where she was raised with her multitude of siblings.

Growing up, Angie had beautiful bonds with all her siblings and parents, especially her mom Emilia, her brother, Felix, and sister, Belen, whom she adored and longed to be reunited with again.

In 1962, she went on a blind date with her future husband, who she would later call "mi veijito," and she would be his "mi veijita." On Feb. 6, 1963, they married and began their lives together for 22 years, raising their four daughters and a niece who became another daughter.

Angie worked at Jan's Cafe as a cook and later at Al's café as a dishwasher. She was then promoted to cook.

Angie was a devoted wife until Henry's last breath in 1985, but her job wasn't done. She stayed being a devoted mother to her children and niece and all of their friends. Then her job became bigger when she became a grandmother.

Angie was involved in the green chile contest at the Archuleta County fair in the late 1990s to early 2000s. She won multiple ribbons ranging from first place to second place. She was also part of the Guadalupanas and would cook for those who needed meals for their loved one's funeral. She was a devoted Catholic who instilled her faith into her children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved like no other. No matter who it was, she always offered her hospitality to those who would visit her. Through the years she had countless adopted nieces, nephews, adopted children and adopted grandchildren. In her 87 years of life she made a lot of unforgettable memories and a lot of delicious food that one will never forget.

Angie is survived by her four daughters, Joann (Ray) Pacheco, Henrietta (Shane) Siron, Cathy Villarreal and Shana (Tracy) Stewart; and her three step-daughters, Josie, Connie and Lorrie. Angie is also survived by her grandchildren, step-grandchildren, adopted grandchildren, her  great-grandchildren and numerous step-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who she loved very much.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Juan and Emilia Vasquez; husband Henry Villarreal; all of her siblings; her daughter, Emily Villarreal, and her son, Felix Vasquez; her grandsons (who she loved so much) Jeremiah Villarreal and Steve Chavez; her beautiful great-grandaughter Felicia Carbajal; and her precious great-grandson, Trinity Talamante (her gordito).

Services will be held at Pope John Paul II Catholic Church by Father Samuel. The rosary will be held Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 6 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m. Reception to follow.

Angie is already missed beyond measure and through her family she will continue to live.

We know you were tired and now it's time to rest, Angie-Pangie. "Vaya con dios Madrecita. Nosotras siempre te amaremos."
