There are so many wonderful events happening here and close by that I would like to mention and the first one is the Archuleta County Fair — so many people work so hard and Ron and I thought this was the best one ever. Hooray for the 4-H kids and their parents. They are so much fun to be around and they offer such hope for the future. I enjoy families spending time at the fairgrounds. It is almost like stepping into another world.
We like to go to Creede for at least one play a year so we saw “Annie Get Your Gun” and that leads me to mention the Lion’s Amphitheater in Farmington — outdoors on the red rocks and we caught “Footloose” there and this leads me home and to the Thingamajig theater here. What a sensational summer they have had. Absolutely outstanding with the four shows and four free concerts. Perry, Morgan, Charity, Sam, Steve, Troy, Jaime and the other performers were remarkable and make a person want to see and hear more. Thank you so much, Tim and Laura.
And one more thing: a music festival called Rhythm on the Rio in South Fork. A wonderful, exciting small get together that gave us so much pleasure.
In our case the magic word is retired — what a lovely spiritual place to live in for now.
