Where will you build?

A summer cottage could quickly and easily be built directly on a smooth, sandy surface. This might be a short season, so there is no sense in wasting time and effort digging down to a rock foundation. The nearby stream is flowing gently past; no need to look for a safer — and less attractive — place to build. Why miss this opportunity?

For a time, it appears to be a wise choice. The breeze whispers gently through the verdant trees that line the river channel. The middle of the stream is only knee deep, making it easy to hook into the abundance of fish. It’s summertime, fish are jumpin’, and the livin’ is easy.
