On Sunday, Jan. 6, the Pagosah Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will be treated to a sermon by Rev. Christine Robinson of First Unitarian Church of Albuquerque and Andrew Millard, ministerial intern, titled “Introduction to God.”
In this DVD presentation, we will see at play the Fourth UU Principle, affirmed by all Unitarian Universalists: “A free and Responsible Search for Truth and Meaning.” That search, by definition, produces different answers to the question, What is truth?
Rev. Robinson believes that without the word “God” she would be, “spiritually tongue-tied and unable to communicate well with other religious people.” She does not, however, have to accept the definition of a “cosmic peeping Tom” who is constantly watching over her and keeping track of her sins.
She has other ideas.
Andrew Millard presents yet another answer. He is a pantheist, who believes that the universe itself is divine. He shares his sense of, “awe and wonder at the beauty and power of the universe and the sacred in nature.”
Come and decide where your search is leading you.
The service begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Pagosah Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hall. The address is Unit B-15, Greenbriar Plaza. Turn east on Greenbriar Drive off of North Pagosa Boulevard by the fire station, then left into the back parking lot and look for the big sign. All are welcome.
