Whatchamawhozits present heart-warming Christmas drama

By Laura Moore
Special to The PREVIEW

The Whatchamawhozits Children’s Theatre Department of Thingamajig Theatre Company will present “Yes, Virginia There is a Santa Claus” on Dec. 7 at 5 p.m. and Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts.

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door a half hour before the shows.

Virginia O’Hanlon is an 8-year-old who wrote to The New York Sun in 1897 asking if Santa Claus is real. The Whatchamawhozit kids bring her story to life with tenderness and humor, portraying everyone from the delightful Virginia, her absent-minded granny, the gruff editors of the Sun, a clumsy reporter and Virginia’s family and friends as she takes the journey that every child must.

This production is Whatchamawhozit’s first drama and the local children ages 6-12 in the cast will warm the hearts of all the folks who come out to support them this Christmas season.
