Special to The PREVIEW
Thingamajig Theatre’s Whatchamawhozits Kid’s Camp returns this summer to take on the Disney musical “The Aristocats!”
Beginning July 1, the camp runs for three weeks, with a final performance on Saturday, July 20, in the afternoon.
Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the budding young stars will learn about the production process through fun and games and various interactive methods. As with all musicals, there will be auditions, rehearsal and lots of singing and dancing.
Professional actors from Thingamajig Theatre’s summer season will act as camp counselors to coach the kids and join in the fun.
Children from the ages of 7 to 12 are welcome to register, and the total cost for the entire three weeks is $300 before June 15, and $350 after that time.
Additionally, the kids get to build and ride on a float in the Fourth of July parade to promote attendance at their show. Should any child wish to attend only the first week of camp, or if they’re unable to come to the rest of camp, the cost will be $150 and he or she would have the opportunity to participate in theatre games, the parade and general fun without being committed to the final performance.
For three years running, Whatchamawhozits has taught the basics of theatre to Pagosa’s youth and produced quality kids’ plays enjoyable for both the audience and the young actors and actresses. Space is limited, so sign up today. Call Laura Moore at 507-0408, e-mail her at email@example.com, or stop by the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts located at 2313 Eagle Drive to register or if you have any questions. Registration forms are available online at pagosacenter.org. Make all checks payable to Thingamajig, and you can send everything to 2313 Eagle Drive.
We look forward to working with your kids this summer in “The Aristocats!”
