The West Fork Complex, including the West Fork, Papoose and Windy Pass fires, is reported at 53,544 acres.

A little cloud cover and some cooler temps have helped a bit this morning.

Fire officials have stated that anyone attempting to go around the barriers at the West Fork Fire will be issued a citation.

Rio Grande county health officials are urging that, if smoke is thick or becomes thick in your neighborhood, please remain indoors. Limit outdoor activity when moderate-heavy smoke is present; especially those with heart diseases, respiratory illnesses, the very young, and the elderly.

Good advice and please everyone keep away from the active fire zones, the firefighters need to do their work and we all need to support them. Thank you for the great coverage SUN staff, keep it up we are counting on you.
