Wedemeyer claims second at state in the triple jump

Michael Wedemeyer hurls through the air at the track and field state championship last weekend. Wedemeyer earned second in the triple jump, seventh in the long jump and broke a Pagosa Springs High School record in the 400-meter race.

Last weekend’s state track and field meet was a good one for the Pagosa Springs High School (PSHS) Pirates: Michael Wedemeyer nabbed second in the triple jump and broke the school record in the 400-meter dash, Mackenzie Wedemeyer broke the school record in the 200-meter dash, and the girls’ 800-meter sprint medley team placed fourth while breaking a school record.
