I recently took a stroll around Yamaguchi Park, a memorial to the veterans of this early family who came, stayed, and served. As I strolled around, thinking of them, skateboarders and cyclists passed by, each one with a smile on his face, said “Hi” — made my heart sing.
Then, this past week, seeing The Pagosa SUN filled with good news about good people doing good things — again made my heart sing. The front page showed our Pagosa DI Nerds on the way to global competition — hooray for them. Then there was the promotion of our Medical Center to a Level IV Trauma Center — hooray for them. Next came the Wolf Creek Ski Team (ages 6 and up) with their successful accomplishments. And then news of the organization of a BSA Venturing Crew for teenagers, an extension of our well-established Scouting Organizations here in Pagosa. Then, there was news of the organization of a Boys Choir to match the current Girls Choir, and also the many fine upcoming music and stage productions by the high school Americana Project and the Curtains Up organization. Then there was the wonderful listing of activities to celebrate the “Week of the Young Child” — goodness, I could go on and on.
We have good families doing good things which result in great kids. Congratulations to all and many, many thanks to those in leadership positions.
Yes, this is Pagosa, we are Pagosa.
