Volunteers sought for town Parks and Recreation Commission

SUN Columnist

The Town of Pagosa Springs is seeking volunteers to serve one- and two-year terms on the Parks and Recreation Commission.

The commission serves as a liaison with town council and is charged with evaluating current recreation, open space and trails projects within the community. The commission is also expected to collaborate with town council regarding the research, promotion and development of new recreation initiatives.

Individuals interested in applying for a seat on the commission should be knowledgeable about the town’s current recreation programming, be keenly interested in town development issues and have applicable experience.

The commission typically meets the second Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at Town Hall, but meets more frequently if required.

Interested individuals should submit a letter of interest to the Town of Pagosa Springs Recreation Department no later than Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. Letters can be sent via mail to P.O. Box 1859, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147. Letters can also be sent to tcarosello@centurytel.net.
