USFS civil rights compliance review results released

Staff Writer

The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (OASCR) has produced a report outlining the noncompliance with federal civil rights requirements and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations within U.S. Forest Service (USFS) regions 2 and 3 in Colorado and New Mexico. USFS region 2 includes the Pagosa Ranger District.

The report was produced following conduction of a Civil Rights Compliance Review of USFS grazing and recreational programs between April 1 and June 14, 2013. The compliance review was conducted by the Office of Compliance, Policy, Training and Cultural Transformation (OCPTCT) within OASCR. The compliance review process involved the interview of approximately 100 USFS employees in addition to the interview of around 135 of grazing permittees from various national forests in ranger districts within regions 2 and 3.
