After two years of cancelled Fourth of July fireworks, members of the Pagosa Springs Town Tourism Committee are starting to get anxious to see something bright and flashy, and while the idea of a New Year’s Eve celebration has been tossed around, it may involve more Christmas lights instead of the rockets’ red glare.
“We’ve got fireworks from last year that we still haven’t used,” TTC holiday subcommittee leader Jon Johnson said, “and we’re a little concerned about them expiring. They have a shelf life. Maybe we could use those fireworks for this event.
