Trail protocol

I would like to agree with Gail Hershey’s letter about trail protocol. I mountain bike and hike our trails. When I’m hiking, the last thing I want is a biker screaming “on your left” two seconds before they fly by. When I am on my bike, and approach someone from behind, I slow down and calmly say “good morning” to let them know that I’m there. With horses, it is especially important to stop or quietly let them know you are there.
