Town to sell chairlift, Reservoir Hill discussions continue

The Cuchara chairlift, which the town purchased in 2010 with the intention of using it as the center point of the Reservoir Hill development plan, is now on the market and the town may soon be able to wash its hands of it. The hope is that the town will show a little profit from the sale.

“Unless there is an objection by town council,” town manager David Mitchem proposed at the July 2 meeting, “staff plans to sell the chairlift by placing an advertisement in ski and recreation industry media. We will first get an estimate of value.”

    this should be the top story of this issue of the pagosa sun. and the people responsible for this debacle should have their photos plastered on the front page under the headline: fools! i wonder how much work could have been done for our community while our leaders wasted countless hours on this idiotic plan to turn reservoir hill into a circus carnival. i also wonder how much more profit bob hart gets to make when they need to get that hunk of junk out of here. this thing reeks of corruption. can you imagine how embarrassing it would be if this story was heard outside of pagosa springs?
