The Town of Pagosa Springs will hold a public input session concerning preliminary sidewalk and trail designs on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 5 p.m. in the South Conference Room at the Ross Aragon Community Center.
This open public meeting will accommodate discussion, receive public input and present preliminary design plans for the installation of a sidewalk extension along South 8th Street to the new lighted intersection at U.S. 160.
Discussion will include a plan for a non-motorized pedestrian trail between 8th Street and the Pagosa Springs Elementary School. The 8th Street Trail will provide a safe pedestrian route from the 8th Street sidewalk system up along U.S. 160 for people desiring to walk from downtown to the elementary school. In addition, this key phase of the future Town to Lakes trail system will provide for a pedestrian connection to uptown and the Pagosa Lakes trail system.
Also on the agenda is discussion of the 6th Street Riverwalk expansion and pedestrian bridge.
Town officials are looking forward to a busy year of trails construction with additional Town to Lakes trail phases and San Juan Riverwalk trails scheduled for 2013.
Additional public meetings will be scheduled as soon as preliminary work is completed for additional trail phases.
