Town snow plowing, snow removal policies

By Kathy Harker
Special to The SUN

Although late in coming, snow is here and officials at the Town of Pagosa Springs remind residents and business owners of guidelines for winter parking and maintenance.

In order to facilitate safe and effective removal of snow from town roadways, Snow Routes have been designated by town authorities. Parking restrictions along any posted Snow Routes are in effect during a storm, or when predicted storm weather conditions exist. Any parked, stalled, stopped or immobilized vehicle will be towed, at the owner’s expense, while restrictions are in effect.

It is the responsibility of the business or home owner to clear snow from any sidewalk that abuts or adjoins their property. Sidewalks should be cleared by noon of the second day following the day of last measurable snowfall.

The Town of Pagosa Springs appreciates your cooperation in keeping streets and sidewalks as safe as possible in these winter conditions.
