Town resumes funding for Community Development Corporation

The Pagosa Springs Community Development Corporation has asked the Town of Pagosa Springs to once again make a financial contribution to the CDC’s economic development efforts in Archuleta County.

At last Thursday’s town council meeting, CDC board president Jason Cox actually made two requests — that the town council appoint a representative to serve on the CDC board of directors and that it approve payment of an invoice for the CDC’s first quarter expenses.

The same requests were made of the Archuleta County Board of County Commissioners on April 21.

“The first comes from our newly drafted and adopted bylaws,” Cox explained to the town council, “which … specifies for the board of directors that the organization shall have seven to nine directors, five of whom shall be elected by the members and two directors shall be appointed by the local government entities.”
