The library: a gem

Dear Editor:

This past Thursday, I attended an activity at the local public library of Pagosa Springs. It was a hoot. The event was Karaoke Night for kids of all ages and those of us young at heart. We had small preschoolers through senior citizens who sang, danced and laughed together. I am not sure that the local citizens realize what a gem we have in this local library.

I first went for the Tech Tuesday and Thursday computer assistance, then for books on CD. Next I went for use of the free Internet access, and then for genealogy research. Because of the great attitude of the staff at the library, especially Meg Wimple the technology wizard, I have started attending events. The library of today is not the library of my youth. There is so much stimulating material, different learning tools and vibrant atmosphere, that I enjoy spending time just looking at everything new and available. The library is a comfortable, safe environment for reading, learning, and broadening our horizons. The only thing missing is a dog at your feet. I encourage everyone to go enjoy this outstanding resource of Pagosa Springs.
