Support Valdez

Dear Editor:

Ballots are being mailed to registered Republicans this week. The Primary Election is June 24 and there are candidates vying for sheriff and county commissioner. Rich Valdez is the candidate best suited to be the Sheriff of Archuleta County.

His education and training include a bachelors’ degree and a variety of professional development opportunities. He has also been an instructor with Southwest Regional Law Enforcement Academy since 2006.

As the current undersheriff (appointed October 2012), he is in the best position to identify the strengths and shortcomings of the Department and take the necessary steps to ensure the needs of Archuleta County citizens are met.

His experience, combined with his current strong relationships with regional law enforcement entities, will be of great value to this office. We know he will make deliberate decisions that will best serve Archuleta County residents. He is an effective communicator. He is honest and dependable.

We are wholeheartedly supporting Rich Valdez and believe he deserves your support as well. Republicans, look for your ballot in the mail.
