Support Lynch

Dear Editor:

I am writing this letter to support Bob Lynch for the LPEA board of directors.

The main reason I support Bob Lynch is because he is a practical fiscal conservative. He understands that resources must be used wisely today while also implementing a long term plan for future maintenance, improvements and innovation. He has experience in long term strategic planning and understands the role of a Board of Directors in holding executives accountable for achieving the goals of the long term plan.

As a fiscal conservative Bob will strive to keep rates as low as possible. He will search for ways to help LPEA better manage its costs in order to keep rates low.

Bob is also willing to explore new ideas. He knows we need to maximize all of our options for power generation in the future so that we have a mix of sources. We can’t afford to believe that traditionally generated power will be the only reliable and cheap source of power in the future. Multiple options including biomass, solar, hydro and geothermal can increase our independence. Our energy security is enhanced when we have multiple sources of generation, particularly local sources.

Bob will also strive to have LPEA become proactive in strategically planning for our future mix of energy sources. To quote Bob Lynch, “If LPEA drives the thinking about our energy future we can assure that costs stay in line.”
