Special to The PREVIEW
The choir at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church is back in the saddle again after enjoying a short reprieve following the busy Christmas season.
We are happy to welcome Linda Williams, who has returned to Pagosa with her husband, Gary, for a few months, adding her lovely voice to our soprano section.
We also welcome back Keith Paulson who was away for a couple of months. We appreciate their contributions.
Also, a big welcome to Beth Einig, who is our newest soprano.
The choir enjoyed going to Pine Ridge to sing “Happy Birthday” to our dear Mabel Robinson, who is 95 years young. She was all dressed up and very excited to see us. She evidently had quite a big day, receiving over 70 birthday cards and greetings, enjoying a surprise visit from her son from Phoenix, and anticipating a big party that evening with Karla and Ed. She is truly a treasure.
The choir at St. Patrick’s is indeed a ministry, not a performing ensemble for worship. It is our call to serve our Lord through music, inspiring worshippers to a deeper awareness of the Holy Spirit in their midst. Our choir members are dedicated to serving our Lord through music and are always happy to welcome others who wish to share their own talents with us. The choir rehearses on Thursday afternoons at 3:30 and meets at 9 a.m. on Sunday morning to warm up and prepare for the service. Join us.
Sunday Night Unplugged
Sunday evening, Feb. 9, at 5 p.m., Sunday Night Unplugged will welcome the talents of the Divertimento String Quartet. The quartet, consisting of Kate Kelley (viola), Heidi Tanner (violin), Nancy Smith (violin) and Jean Broderick (cello), has been playing together for a number of years, reminding audiences how lucky we in Pagosa Springs are to have such talented classical musicians in our midst.
Do not miss the opportunity to meditate in this peaceful setting with the beautiful sounds this amazing group of ladies will provide.
Sunday Night Unplugged is a monthly meditation service open to any who wish to attend. Please bring your friends and prepare to open your minds and hearts to the Holy Spirit.
The service lasts under an hour and is a treat you will want to give yourself every month.
