Summer Cheer Clinic today and tomorrow

By Mable Barber

Special to The SUN

The annual summer cheer clinic hosted by the Pagosa Springs High School Pirate Cheerleaders will be held today and tomorrow, Aug. 8-9.

The clinic is held at the high school for kindergarten through eighth-grade students.

Beginner to intermediate cheerleading techniques will be taught. Learn a dance, new cheers and chants, plus jumps and stunts. Guys and girls are welcome.

It’s not too late: $20 for both days or $10 per day. Kindergarten and first graders attend 10 a.m.-1 p.m.; second-eighth grades, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., both days.

There will be two days of cheerleading fun, which includes lunch (hot dog, chips, drink, dessert) for $20.

Girls need to wear their hair up, no jewelry, and everyone should dress comfortably to be active.

Registration is each day 8:45-10 a.m. at the high school.
