Summer Baseball

The Pagosa Springs Extreme is fresh off a successful weekend of baseball action, sweeping last weekend’s doubleheader against Bayfield’s 12-and-under all stars (by a final score of 10-6) and the Bayfield 11-and-under all stars (by a final score of 24-1). DJ Day and Paden Bailey performed well on the day, with both pitching well and knocking home runs. Irving Pina also stood out, giving up four hits and pitching a three-up, three-down inning in his first pitching appearance for the team. But last weekend’s success wasn’t unusual for the team — it swept Alamosa’s traveling team in a doubleheader (16-4 and 16-1) the prior weekend.
