Strong skills

Dear Editor:

The members of the Board of Directors of our La Plata Electric Association oversee the current and future policies of our electric cooperative. Their responsibilities are many and varied, as they look at the emerging opportunities for utilizing innovative new techniques for producing electricity for our homes and businesses.

Board members need strong business skills and a large measure of common sense in order to analyze the economics of the technologies that will provide our electricity economically and efficiently. Ken Fox has the wide range of experience, as well as that all important element of common sense. Since we elected him to the LPEA Board of Directors in 2011, he has been a vital, contributing member of the board. He has an in-depth understanding of the challenges and opportunities that our electric co-op will be addressing in the very near future.

It has been my privilege to serve on the RoundUp Board of LPEA with Ken. I’ve seen that he listens, questions and understands before he speaks. And when he presents his viewpoint I appreciate his grasp of the facts, his wisdom, the solutions he suggests.

Ballots will be mailed the first of May. I hope you will mark your LPEA Board of Directors ballot for Ken. We in Pagosa Springs need Ken Fox to represent us on the La Plata Electric Association Board of Directors.
