Dear Editor:

Why do we need Dennis Spencer for county commissioner? I hear complaints from people almost daily about things in Archuleta County not being what they should be. Everything from issues with building codes and permits, to hoops businesses have to jump through to do even the most basic things, to local government officials out of control. This has been going on for the 15 years I’ve lived here, so why do we keep electing people that continue to do the same “insane” things we all hate? A well-known quote states something to the effect … “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result.” There are hundreds of people in Archuleta County working to do things “differently so as to actually get a different result. One of those people is Dennis Spencer, running for county commissioner. Dennis is well engaged in restoring constitutional parameters to our local community, and bringing back the liberties we all have lost. With over 60 million statutory laws strangling us all, we need to return to sound, simple and limited local government. Dennis Spencer will be there to listen to the People, and to restore liberties and sound local government. Vote for Dennis Spencer and let’s show all the Colorado Counties watching us, what can be accomplished to take back our rights and freedoms. Join our weekly Thursday meetings to learn more on what is taking place in our County … (see the calendar in The SUN). You’ll be encouraged, and be empowered through the constitutional classes. Be a part of the solution, not supporting the problem.
