A local skier died at Wolf Creek Ski Area Wednesday afternoon.
Jack Hummel, 70, a season pass holder at Wolf Creek Ski Area, died following an apparent accident Wednesday afternoon.
According to ski area owner Davey Pitcher, Hummel was skiing with his wife shortly after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday when he apparently had an accident on the lower portion of the Bunny Hop run.
Pitcher said it is believed Hummel hit a tree while skiing, but said no one saw Hummel’s accident.
“We’re not really sure what happened,” Pitcher said.
A physician’s advisor on the scene was unable to resuscitate Hummel, Pitcher said.
