It’s been a wonderful summer this year at Thingamajig Theatre Company, in residence at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts. Midway through the 2014 Summer Season run, all but two performances have been sold out.

“It’s been immensely gratifying,” remarked Producing Artistic Director Tim Moore. “Not only in terms of box office success, but programming a season that is a hit with our wonderful summer patrons and telling our actors, ‘We’re sold out’ at the beginning of every performance; it’s pretty tough to beat that feeling in this business.”

Last week, Thingamajig Theatre Company opened its fourth show, “A Chorus Line,” to a capacity audience. The show completes the repertory round-up along with “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast,” “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” and “Les Miserables,” all playing through Aug. 24.

“Anyone visiting Pagosa Springs can see all four shows in any given week,” says Moore. And most patrons have. Ticket data indicates that over 80 percent of patrons visiting the theater for a show have made a return visit to view two or more shows in the same week.

“There’s definitely a sense of urgency for tickets this summer. Much to our dismay, we’ve turned away ten to twenty potential patrons each night. We’ve added seating, but it fills each night almost as quickly as we can put the new chair down,” adds Stage Manager Lexi Midgely. Of particular urgency are tickets for performances of “Les Miserables in Concert” as it closes on Aug. 9 with only 40 remaining tickets available between the two performances.

“‘Les Mis’ has been our best-selling show to date, followed closely by ‘Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.’ We have an incredibly talented summer cast this year and I think patrons know they are hearing and seeing something special when they attend our productions,” remarks Moore.

Don’t miss a single production this season. We’d love for you to “be our guest.”
