Sister Cornell: A force to be reckoned with

“Yoo-hoo!” Sister Ida Cornell stood on our front porch with a hot blackberry cobbler in her hands. She had popped over for a visit, but not empty handed.

She could be seen in the neighborhood with a covered dish for a shut-in. She walked to the hospital with a single flower picked from her garden in her hand and a Bible tucked into her oversized purse. She baked cookies for vacation Bible school. She rocked crying babies in the church nursery. If there was a need, she was there to lend a helping hand. She loved people.
