Dear Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Chamber of Commerce for another wonderful Parade of Stores. My girlfriends and I had a great day shopping, socializing and even finding some stores we had never been into before. I would encourage those retailers that did not participate this year to think about participating next year, as it is a great way to get customers into your business. The great thing about shopping in Pagosa is that you get to meet and know the shop owners on a personal level; how wonderful is it to be greeted by name when you enter their store.

On a personal note, I must admonish the retailer who didn’t want to give me tickets for items I purchased because I used a gift certificate, even though I spent more than the gift certificate. Her reason was, the gift certificate was not purchased that day. After some discussion, she agreed to give me the tickets, I filled them out and I watched as she went to the back table where the bag to deposit the tickets was and instead of putting the tickets in the bag, she dropped them in the trash. Shame on you. You know who you are. I will not be back to your store and I will make sure my friends know about it. It is not as though you were paying for the prizes in the drawing, I am quite puzzled as to why you would do such a thing. Thank goodness, there seems to be only one bad apple in the group. I did not let this experience ruin the rest of the day.
