‘Shark hysteria’

Dear Editor:
As a biology teacher , I once had a 15 year old student who had a circular scar around his upper left arm caused by a non-fatal shark bite. I thought it was the coolest mark I had ever seen on a human body, far more interesting than any tattoo could be. This boy wanted to join the military. He took a phobia test in my class that indicated that he had no fears of anything, because of surviving the shark attack.
