Special to The PREVIEW
On Feb. 9, Merlin Wheeler will present to the Pagosa Unitarian Universalist Fellowship a chronicle of what he views as his spiritual growth and development over the past 50 years.
Starting with experiences in his college years through the present day, he will address how those experiences have shaped his spiritual awareness and led him to his intellectual, emotional and transcendent view of his life.
Merlin has been in Pagosa Springs, and part of PUUF, since 2006. Prior to that, he was in Los Alamos, N.M. for 33 years working as a hydrologist. He attended college at Michigan State University and at the University of Arizona. He is an avid outdoorsman, engaged in hiking, biking, and, when there’s enough water — whitewater canoing and skiing.
The Pagosa Unitarian Universalist Fellowship sponsors a children’s spiritual educational program and encourages families with children to please join us for our Sunday service. Our children’s religious programs teach our Unitarian Universalist heritage, ethical living, moral precepts to love your neighbor, work for a better world and to search for truth with an open mind. Arts and crafts projects also are utilized to illustrate these principles. Currently, Gail Hershey, a locally acclaimed artist and educator, has a number of framed color prints on display in our Fellowship Hall.
The service begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Pagosa Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hall. The address is Unit B-15, Greenbriar Plaza. Turn east on Greenbriar Drive off of North Pagosa Boulevard by the fire station, then left into the back parking lot and look for the big sign. All are welcome.
