School data

Dear Editor:
After reading the August 31, 2017 Pagosa Springs SUN I was embarrassed, enraged and saddened to read the front page story “Assessment data a mixed bag for school districts.” First I was embarrassed after comparing the results of Archuleta student’s scores in every category reported in the article. What the Sun’s article failed to mention is the scores show a continuing lack of educational progress over the past several years. In nearly every category our students demonstrate they have not “met or exceeded readiness for the next grade level/course” and are not “on track for college and careers.”
