Safe and secure

Dear Editor:

You know, I have a “semi-automatic” knife, a “semi-automatic” bat, a “semi-automatic” truck, a “semi-automatic” fist, a “semi-automatic” sharp pencil … ad nauseam. In fact, everything I can think of is pretty much “semi-automatic” and hundreds of these “things” can kill people when the “semi” is engaged, so it would be prudent to ban all inanimate objects because of the potential for their “semi-automatic” behavior to hurt someone.  Yah, that seems reasonable and logical, and would certainly save lives, so let’s ban everything, and truly be safe and secure.
