Roads continue to open

The following roads are now open for the season:

  • 626 — Devil Mountain.
  • 631 — Mosca, currently open for 17.5 miles, after which drivers may encounter snow.

The following roads are still closed:

  • 039 — Falls Creek Road.
  • 660 — Castle Creek to Fish creek Trailhead.
  • 681 — Chris Mountain Road, which will remain closed through the summer.
  • 725 — Wolf Creek Road.

The Williams Creek and Blanco River Group campgrounds opened Friday. All campgrounds within the district are now open.

Pagosa Ranger District would like to remind drivers, “An open road does not give permission to damage roads. Damage is defined as: ruts 1 inch deep or deeper on gravel roads, 4 inches deep or deeper on native surface roads. Do not go off roads, except to park adjacent to the road on dry ground.”

For more information about road openings and for campground and travel information, visit the San Juan National Forest website or contact the Pagosa Ranger District, 264-2268, 180 Pagosa St.
