Dear Editor:

There was a beautiful letter in The SUN a couple of weeks ago written by Naquita Rivas (June Marquez’ daughter) and several others have voiced the same thoughts. She was so glad to get home after graduating from cosmetology school. People move away from here for various reasons, but they miss it and come back for a visit or to live (what is it?). Those who appreciate what we have here, know other people move here to get away from Wal-Mart. There are several of them here now. They come here for the natural beauty that surrounds us and the wonderful caring people.

My hero at the present time is Christine Funk, who is the driving force behind Friends of Reservoir Hill, our hill.

I hope the lighting of the three Christmas trees on Dec. 22 becomes an annual event. What a surprise when about 100 persons came to enjoy the festivities.

Was it legal to try to pass some sort of ordinance without even informing Clint Alley and David Schanzenbaker? It sounds as though there is some fear here. Very interesting.
