Red Flag Warning issued for area

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for most of western Colorado, including Archuleta County.

The warning is in effect From Thursday noon to 8 p.m. for gusty winds, low humidity and dry fuels.

A Red Flag Warning indicates critical fire weather conditions are occurring now or will occur shortly.

A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Breezy conditions are expected today as wind gusts could reach 30-40 mph. Thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon and evening hours.
