Pulling out all the stops for a multi purpose pavilion

By Doug Chapin
Special to The SUN

Locals are pulling out all the stops to get our town a multi purpose pavilion.

Jeff Quinn, a hockey player, raised donations to benefit the pavilion by entering the Penguin Plunge this past WinterFest weekend. Boy, did he make a big splash. So much so he broke his leg when he landed.

Unfortunately, Jeff is not currently covered by insurance. We are taking donations toward his hospital bills. Please show some support for our courageous friend. There will be a donation jar at the recipe contest on March 7 for Jeff. Or, call Kristal at 264-3346 if you can help.

We are excited to host the Taste of Pagosa Cookbook Recipe Contest and fundraiser March 7, from 6-8 p.m. at the Quality Resort. All entries are added to the cookbook and have a chance at winning a prize. Come out and eat all of this amazing food. Your admission fee of $20 gets you in the door, where you will be able to eat these amazing entries.

Entries will be accepted in our soups, salads and breads category. The contest is open to everyone. We will have judges from our many local restaurants and a special guest celebrity judge.

Anyone wishing to enter may call Tari Woods at 731-8877.

Anyone wishing to help or donate to Friends of Pagosa Multi Purpose Pavilion, contact Kristal Fortune at 264-3346.
