Archuleta, Hinsdale, and Mineral Counties
A Draft Decision Notice and Finding of No Significant Impact is available for the Pagosa District Prescribed Burning analysis. The Responsible Official is Kevin Khung, District Ranger. It is the Responsible Officials intention to select the Proposed Action (Alternative 2) for this project located on the Pagosa Ranger District. The project would allow prescribed burning within approximately 193,000 acres of National Forest System (NFS) lands with the goal of treating approximately 2,000 -5,000 acres/year. Ponderosa pine, warm-dry mixed conifer, and shrub dominated areas are targeted for treatment. The Pagosa District Prescribed Burning Project is subject to the objection process pursuant to 36 CFR 218, subpart A and B. Objections will only be accepted from those who have previously submitted specific written comments regarding the proposed project during scoping or other designated opportunity for public comment in accordance with §218.5(a).
An objection, including attachments, must be filed (regular mail, fax, email, hand-delivery, express delivery, or messenger service) with the appropriate reviewing officer within 45 days of the date of publication of this legal notice. It is the objector’s responsibility to ensure timely filing of a written objection with the reviewing officer.
Objections should be submitted in writing to the Reviewing Officer, Kara Chadwick, San Juan Forest Supervisor. Mail to: Kara Chadwick, San Juan Public Lands Center, 15 Burnett Court, Durango, CO 81301. The Town of Pagosa Springs Planning Commission will consider whether to recommend the revised Comprehensive Plan for adoption at their March 27, 2018 meeting. The meeting will begin at 5:30 pm. Town Council anticipates hearing and considering the Planning Commission’s recommendation at their April 19 meeting at 5:00 pm. Both meetings will be held at Town Hall 551 Hot Springs Boulevard and include time for public comment.
All members of the public are invited to review the Plan document and provide comment or ask questions on the Plan. A copy of the Plan is available for review on the Town’s website: www.pagosasprings.com , and at Town Hall 551 Hot Springs Boulevard. Reference copies are also available in various locations in the community (Ruby Sisson Library, Ross Aragon Community Center, Senior Center).
The Town encourages any written comments be submitted to the Planning Department prior to the public meetings; however, you may attend and provide comment in person. Separate sealed BIDS for the Veterans Memorial Park – Phase 1 project will be received by the Veterans Memorial Park of Archuleta County at the Office of Davis Engineering Service, Inc., located at 188 South 8th Street, P.O. Box 1208, Pagosa Springs, Colorado 81147, until 2:00 p.m. local time on April 19, 2018, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.
The project consists of constructing a portion of the parking lot on the Veterans Memorial Park parcel near Lake Vista in Archuleta County, Colorado. The work potentially includes concrete curb, gutter, and sidewalks, and asphalt parking lot surfacing, but may be limited to a gravel parking lot due to budgetary constraints. The project also involves some underground drainage structures and a detention pond. The project may include, but is not limited to excavation, embankment, drainage structures, gravel placement, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, asphalt paving, pavement marking, lighting, erosion control, and other work related with parking lot construction.
Copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS and Plans may be obtained on or after March 29, 2018, at the office of Davis Engineering Service, Inc. located at the address listed above, upon payment of $60.00 for each set. No refund will be made for returned copies.
A mandatory pre-bid conference and inspection trip for prospective Bidders will be held at the office of Davis Engineering Service, Inc.
