As a task force of concerned local citizens continues to pursue the possibility of a recreation center for downtown Pagosa Springs, members of the Pagosa Lakes Property Owners Association voted overwhelmingly last month in favor of improving not only their rec center, but also their parks and trails system.
The results of the July 27 election showed 2,682 ballots were received, and while this was only 8.3 percent of the 32,232 possible votes, it was a good turnout considering a number of eligible electors are only timeshare owners instead of full-time residents.
