Pirates defeat Bayfield for first time in 11 years

Pirate quarterback Grant Aucoin slides through a would-be Bayfield Wolverine tackle, picking up some positive yardage for the Pirates. Aucoin finished the night with nine carries for 49 yards and a perfect night throwing the ball, going six for six on passing attempts for 196 yards and two touchdowns. The No. 23 Pirates dominated the No. 24 Wolverines 42-0 on Oct. 25, snapping Bayfield’s 23-game league winning streak that dated back to 2014. The win also marked the first time Pagosa has beaten Bayfield since 2008.

In the hunt for a playoff berth, the No. 23 Pagosa Springs High School Pirate football team notched a big win on Friday, beating the No. 24 Bayfield Wolverines 42-0 on the road.
