The photo of the mountains and hot air balloon accompanying last week’s photography club meeting should have been attributed to Larry Hefling.

The Pagosa Springs Photography Club will hold its regular monthly meeting Wednesday evening, Feb. 12, in Shy Rabbit Contemporary Arts, 333 Bastille Dr.

Join us for socializing at 6 p.m., followed by the program and business meeting at 6:30 p.m.

Photography enthusiasts at all levels of ability are invited to attend club meetings at no charge for the first meeting. If interested, you are invited to join for annual dues of $20 for individuals, $30 for a family membership and $10 for a student membership.

The Photography Club meets the second Wednesday of each month from September through May.

The Pagosa Springs Photo Club is pleased to announce this month’s program to be presented by John Farley. John is a photographer residing in Pagosa Springs and Santa Fe, N.M. John’s photography emphasizes weather, nature and both natural and human-made landscapes. His favorite photographic subjects are ones that combine one or more of the above elements.

John has been fascinated with weather since childhood and has been taking pictures of interesting weather ever since. He will be showing photos from a trip he and his wife took to Chile last fall and also some of his weather photos from 2013.

His work has appeared at the Santa Fe Artist Market, the PhotoArts Santa Fe Photographers’ Market, the People’s Choice Art Show in Farmington, the Annual New Mexico Photographic Arts (ANMPAS) show (three consecutive years) and the IMAGE New Mexico photography exhibit in Albuquerque, as well as in the annual Pagosa Springs Photography Club Juried Exhibit. You can view more of John’s photography at his website, www.johnefarley.com/photo.htm.

Jennie Green, director of the Pagosa Springs Tourism Committee, will be present to ask club members to submit local photographs to be used to promote Pagosa Springs.

Members are also encouraged to bring 5-10 photographs on a flash drive or CD, vacation or weather related, for review and discussion following the program as time permits.

For more information concerning the meeting, contact Al Olson at 903-9415, Steve Merchant at 264-1226 or TJ Reynolds at 731-9581.
