Pagosa Lakes Open Water Swim Challenge set for Sunday

By Kirsten Le Roux
Special to The SUN

The weather is perfect for this unique chance to enter the PLOW Swim Challenge at Lake Pagosa on Sunday, Aug. 3, at 9 a.m.

The PLOW is a half- and 1-mile open water swim and another GECKO event to fund programs that help get kids unplugged, off the couch and outside.

Registration will be on the day of the event from 8 a.m. at the boat ramp on Cloud Cap Avenue and information about the event can be found online at www.joingecko.org/events.

Wetsuits are permitted, but optional. This will be a fun event to watch and spectators are encouraged to come down and cheer the swimmers on. There will be an entry discount for juniors and XTERRA athletes that stay in town and enjoy an active recovery.

For questions regarding this event, contact Mike Le Roux at 398-0612 or email info@joingecko.org.
