As of today, Friday, July 12, the San Juan National Forest Pagosa Ranger District will lift certain portions of the road and trail closures put in place due to the West Fork Fire Complex.

• The East Fork Road (FS Road 667) from the East Fork Campground to its eastern terminus at FS Road 380 at Elwood Pass will be reopened.

• The Continental Divide National Scenic Trail (FS Trail 813) from the East Fork Road at Elwood Pass north and west to its junction with U.S. 160 will be reopened.

• The Silver Creek Trail (FS Trail 567), which starts off the East Fork Road, will be reopened.

Road and trails on the San Juan and Rio Grande National Forests were closed for public safety due to the West Fork Fire Complex. San Juan National Forest personnel will reassess conditions early next week to determine if other closures can be lifted on the Pagosa Ranger District.

To read the closure order and view a map depicting the current fire closure area on the Pagosa Ranger District, go to: www.fs.usda.gov/alerts/sanjuan/alerts-notices.

Contact the Rio Grande National Forest on current emergency closure orders for areas east of the Continental Divide closed by the West Fork Complex.
