Special to The PREVIEW
Over the past 20 years, children around the world have been overjoyed to receive Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes that have been prayerfully packed by children and adults from 13 different countries.
Each box brings joy and hope to those who receive the boxes. They represent God’s love for them, and that is priceless.
This past year, Operation Christmas Child celebrated the delivery of the 100 millionth box distributed since 1993. And each year Pagosa Springs contributes to this amazing ministry to children and parents in impoverished situations.
Lives are changed because Pagosans care enough to help others.
If you have a few hours to give, join us at the organizational meeting for Operation Christmas Child on Monday, Sept. 16, from 5:30-7 p.m. It will be held at CrossRoad Christian Fellowship, 1044 Park Ave. (across from the Pagosa Lakes Recreation Center). Learn about filling shoe boxes with gifts for children around the world and the Elitch Gardens OCC Shoebox Challenge (complimentary tickets to Elitches), and about short-term volunteer opportunities.
Information, supplies, and shoe boxes will be available. A light dinner will be served.
